Quarter and squeeze your lemons until you have 2 cups of lemon juice
Step #2
Make simple syrup
Add 1 ¼ cups water and 1 ¼ cups sugar to a container and shake.
Chef Tip: Using a stove isn’t required for this. All you have to do is use a 1:1 ratio of warm water to sugar in a storage container. Never buy simple syrup again!
Step #3
Mix
Add lemon juice, simple syrup, and 10 cups of water to a container and stir to combine.
Refrigerate.
Don't worry: If you give this a taste test now it’s going to be a bit sour. Remember we’re going to add ice while serving and the strawberries will have sugar in them.
Step #4
Strawberries
Remove the tops and quarter your strawberries
Add them to a bowl with ¼ cup sugar
Mash them with a potato masher
Don't worry: If you give this a taste test now it’s going to be a bit sour. Remember we’re going to add ice while serving and the strawberries will have sugar in them.
LAST STEP
Put the drink together
Let everything cool down in the refrigerator up to 2 days before serving.
When you’re ready to serve place two spoonfuls of strawberries in the bottom of a glass, top with a small handful of ice, and then add lemonade. You can optionally garnish with mint.
Don't forget: If you want to make this a cocktail add 1 shot of light liquor to the strawberries before adding your lemonade. I prefer vodka but white rum and gin also work.
